Analyzing the Indian Students' letter to the US Congress.

This is the text of the letter Indian Student Associations in America have sent to the U.S Congress. Is there anything in it which is true and factual?

On December 11th, the world’s largest democracy passed the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), an illegal and unconstitutional law aimed at excluding Muslims from Indian citizenship.

The law is not 'illegal' or 'unconstitutional'. That is why the Supreme Court has postponed reviewing the matter. Only the Bench can decide the issue. These students have no locus standi. They needed to say 'in our opinion' this is illegal. But they have not done so. Thus the students are lying.

The fact of the matter is, these students voluntarily chose to study in Trump's America despite his 'Travel Ban' specifically targeting Muslims. Last year the American Supreme Court upheld the latest version of the Travel Ban. If these students are so upset by Muslims being excluded, then they should have left America.

By dividing Indians into Muslims and non-Muslims, the bill explicitly enshrines religious discrimination into law.

The Bill does not divide Indians in this manner. It says that non Muslims from 3 named Islamic Republics where non Muslims have faced ethnic cleansing and severe persecution can gain Indian citizenship under certain conditions. Muslims from Islamic Republics, who are economic migrants not refugees, will not gain this benefit. It is the Islamic Republics on our borders, not the Indian Government, which have explicitly enshrined religious discrimination into their laws. Yet these Students aren't calling for Congress to impose sanctions on those countries. Instead the students are lying about what is happening in India.

Ever since Narendra Modi was elected prime minister in 2014, he and the right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have championed a hardline and revisionist brand of Hindu nationalism, known as Hindutva.

Whatever type of nationalism it is that the BJP is championing, it is that which the majority of Indian people want. The students may object to it. But they may also prefer to remain in the USA.

Hindutva aims to erase India’s diverse myriad of cultures and faiths, redefining the country into a Hindu civilisation and promoting violent and exclusionary attitudes toward Muslims.

These students are seeking to defame Hindutva. They wish to eradicate it from India. India has a Hindu civilization. This is protected by Indian law and Indian force of arms. The students may not like it, but not even American military power can reverse this outcome.

Do these students think the American Republic did not erase 'myriad cultures and faiths' during the course of its existence?  Are they not aware that the US is actively killing Muslims and has highly exclusionary laws preventing refugees from American wars in Muslim countries finding peace and security within America's borders?

Why did these students choose to study in America in the first place? Is it because they like White Racism? What is the reason for their placing greater faith in the American Congress- in whose elections they are barred from voting- than in the Indian Legislature or the Indian Supreme Court? Is it because they are Self-hating Racists? Or are they opportunists? America is richer than India. That is the reason most of them have gone there for studies. They hope to settle there and make more money than they could back home. No wonder they hate Indian nationalism and Hindu civilization. However, they may find that the American Congress turns a deaf ear to their pleas. They themselves may face deportation if they over-stay their visas. Their hatred of India will be of no great service to them in changing their Nationality.

BJP leaders have normalised inflammatory and dehumanising language, such as the BJP President describing Muslims as “termites.”

These students are using inflammatory and dehumanising language against not just BJP leaders but the Hindu civilization which flourishes in India.

The BJP’s parent organisation, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), is a Hindu extremist group that drew inspiration from fascism and German nazism since its founding in 1925.

The RSS drew inspiration from the Congress Seva Dal which was set up in 1924. Jawaharlal Nehru was its President. He is the last on the right in the picture above.  Mahatma Gandhi met Mussolini in 1931. He was greatly impressed with him. Subash Chandra Bose was the most openly Fascist of the Congress leaders. This is a picture of him in a fake military uniform along with Motilal Nehru in a dhoti.

 As late as 1938, the Congress Premier of U.P, Govind Vallabh Pant was describing Mahatma Gandhi as the 'Il Duce and Fuhrer' of India. During the war, Bose allied with Hitler and Tojo. Thanks to him, Indians joined the Waffen S.A. and helped terrorize French and other conquered people. Bose named two of the regiments he formed after Gandhi and Nehru respectively. After Independence, Nehru appointed Bose's deputy in Nazi Germany as India's Ambassador to West Germany. He got on very well with his ex-Nazi chums.

The R.S.S was the weak sister of the Congress Seva Dal. But, unlike Congress outfits, it never became corrupt or criminalized. That is why it has burgeoned and gained recognition as the premier voluntary organization in India. No doubt, it is inspired by Hindu values. But then the vast majority of Indians are equally inspired by Hindu values. There was a time when the Nehru dynasty was the face of muscular Hinduism. Now it is headed by a lady of Italian origin. Thus it is no longer associated with Hinduism but represents hereditary privilege simply.

The Citizenship Amendment Bill is just the latest of India’s many steps to marginalise its population of 200 million Muslims.

But the previous steps were much more important and they took place under Congress rule.

The government has imposed a lockdown and communications blackout on Kashmir’s predominantly Muslim population for over four months, and recently released the National Registry of Citizens (NRC), which will strip hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Assam of their citizenship.

Kashmir has been under frequent lock-downs. Its worst days were under Congress Governments. Those who don't have Indian citizenship can't be stripped of it. That is the case with the illegal migrants in Assam. They may be deported.

Those who are not listed on the registry can be put in mass detention camps and made stateless persons.

However, it is America which has far bigger mass detention camps. There is no question of anyone being made 'stateless'. Bangladesh has said it will accept its own citizens who may have illegally settled beyond the border.

Meanwhile, rates of violent hate crimes against Muslims, such as mass mob lynchings, have increased exponentially across India after 2014.

Nonsense! The numbers are stable.

We, concerned students:
Condemn Hindutva ideology and the Modi government’s fascist and exclusionary treatment of Indian Muslims.

But you, concerned students, flock to America because you don't care about its exclusionary treatment of Muslims. Nor are you greatly fazed by the hundreds and thousands of Muslims who have been killed in the course of America's wars against Islam.

Stand in solidarity with the brave civil disobedience movement in India and condemn the horrific police brutality against protesters.

So you are standing in solidarity by studying in America are you? How very convenient! Do you not care about police brutality against African Americans? Of do you so approve of it that you chose to go to America to study?

Call for the Indian government’s immediate withdrawal of the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Registry of Citizens.

The only sort of call, Indians in America can make to the Indian government are international calls. Everybody knows these students are studying in the US because they want to settle there. They have already shown their loathing of India by spending a lot of money so as to escape from it.

Ask the American House of Representatives to immediately pass House Resolution 745, urging the Republic of India to end restrictions on communications in Jammu and Kashmir and preserve religious freedom for all residents.

So, these Indian students are happy to commit treason! No doubt, they hope to be citizens of America very soon. Then they will experience true bliss knowing their tax dollars were going towards the bombing of Muslims in far away places as well as the killing of African Americans by trigger happy cops.

Call on the US Congress to formally express disapproval through targeted sanctions on Modi government officials until the CAA and NRC are repealed, and urge the United Nations to take action against India on the basis of its undemocratic and unconstitutional treatment of Muslims.

But Trump's travel ban is fine. The border wall is fine. Black Lives don't matter. All that matters is that the US Congress believes a bunch of lies and takes an action only beneficial to the growth of Chinese power.

We believe that the fight for equal treatment for India’s Muslims is also fundamentally a fight for India’s foundational values of secularism and democracy. This is a fight for the future, which must be led by those who will inherit the future.

Not by future Green Card holders who will waste not time becoming pukka American citizens whose tax dollars will be used to kill Muslims abroad and Blacks at home.

Therefore, we invite American universities and youth organisations to mark #HoliAgainstHindutva in March of 2020. Holi is the traditional Indian festival of colours, which celebrates the country’s vibrant diversity and culture in a spirit of inclusiveness. This Holi, join us in celebrating India’s colourful democracy and protesting the Modi government’s undemocratic treatment of Muslims.

Do these silly people not know that celebrating Holi is condemned by all the major Islamic sects of the sub-continent? The Govt. of India's list of communal riots features several which were triggered when a Hindu tried to 'play Holi' with a Muslim. The fact is, it is a Hindu festival and is religious in nature. All mazhabs accept as saheeh the hadith- 'Whoever imitates a people is one of them.' If these kids had just googled 'can Muslims celebrate Holi', they would have immediately found that they must not. It is abhorrent to them. As the website 'Islamic questions and answers' says ' This is sufficient evidence to indicate that it is haraam for a Muslim to participate in the festivals of the Hindus and other disbelievers. The Muslim should not allow his family or children to play with colours on those days, because of what we have quoted above of the evidence that it is forbidden to participate to even the slightest extent in the celebrations and religious festivals of the disbelievers, let alone what those festivals involve of free mixing, music and dancing. If that was a festival celebrate by some Muslims, it would not be permissible to participate in it, because it would be regarded as an innovation and because of what it involves of haraam actions – so how about if it is one of the religious festivals of the disbelievers?!'

If this letter was written by primary school students, we might have some sympathy for the writers. But these are College students! I hope they get their Green Cards and American passports. Having to return to India with their tails between their legs would be a wretched fate.
