The first audience question, pulled from Haines’s pre-approved stack, came from an audience member named Layla, who asked Harris for career guidance. “As a woman in corporate America who aspires to lead,” she began, “what advice would you give me to … build influence before I have a formal leadership title and … work effectively with people who clearly do not want me to succeed?”
Build competence in a mission critical field. Once other people on the team- more particularly those who might have reason to be prejudiced against you- have come to rely on you, they will accept you in a leadership role. After all, leaders exist so as to break concurrency deadlock or livelock. They solve a coordination problem. If they have previously demonstrated an ability to gain competency in a vital area, people have confidence that they can 'learn on the job' and 'grow in the role'.
Of course, in the short to medium term, crap leaders are chosen to preside over dysfunctional organizations. Here, what matters is 'lowering expectations' and being predictable. Better the lazy, stupid, bigoted devil you know to the devil you don't. But, here too, being identified with a particular clique is disadvantageous. You are bound to become the tool of some Machiavellian member of that clique. There will be opacity regarding whom you need to suck up to. This causes 'rent dissipation' and is bad for everybody.
There are two ways to gain 'obligatory passage point status'. One is being so efficient that everybody comes to you. The second is by having nuisance value. You have to be squared otherwise you will start a hue and cry about 'Racism' or 'Sexism' or whatever. The problem with investing in nuisance value is that people may come to see you and your clique as a fucking nuisance. Anyway, anybody can store up grievances of their own and organize their own clique. If they are in the majority, they will win and shout you done if you start whimpering about being bleck or having to sit down to pee.
Kamala, in September 2025, gives the worst advise possible.
Harris encouraged her to “choose your safe circle of people who have a sense of what you’re going through and are going to applaud your ambition.”
If you want to lead, you must not let your team know about your inner doubts and anxieties. You must appear cool, collected and constantly on the qui vive for threats and opportunities for the enterprise. By all means, get a therapist to whom you can reveal your inner turmoil under the seal of professional confidentiality. In politics, there is no such thing as a 'safe circle of people'. As for 'ambition', that is not worth applauding. Competence is. Decisiveness is. The ability to inspire and get the best out of colleagues, is the mark of a leader- even if that leader has no personal ambition.
Suppose Layla, the lady who asked the question, was African American. If she was known in the Company as cultivating only her own ilk, she would be seen as part of a pressure group or clique- not a potential leader.
Danielle, another audience member, turned to Harris for parenting advice. She was expecting her first child, a boy.
I suppose Danielle was African-American. If she was anything else, the appropriate answer would be 'Mazel Tov!'
“I understand the huge responsibility I’m tasked with in raising this boy to have a good heart and a moral compass,
in other words, she hopes he won't grow up to be a gang-banger- a modest ambition.
which so many young men lack today,” she said.
How many Jewish lads are gangsta?
She wanted to “hear your thoughts and advice on raising him in this world and this current political climate.”
Take him to Church. Get him into Military School. Don't shack up with an ex-con who will sodomize your boy.
Harris responded:
“Don’t give up on our young men.
Is this what she says to expectant Jewish or Hindu or WASP mothers? No. She may mention some fancy new way of teaching Math, or Mandarin, to pre-school kids. She doesn't say 'don't give up on baby even if he does have a dick. You know some boys don't end up in prison. Who knows? Your kid may be too much of a wimp to get recruited by a gang. He might turn out like Vivek Ramaswamy.'
They’re our young men, right?”
Harris had dated a much older Black dude who could help her career. But both she and her sister ended up marrying rich, White, lawyers. They wanted nothing to do with Black young men.
Haines, for her part, sought Harris’ perspective on the nature of married life. “What did you learn about marriage running for president?” she asked. Harris advised: “Communicate, you know, in a way that is hopefully without judgement.”
So, Harris can't be a 'life-coach'. Marriage is not about non-judgmentally telling your Jewish husband he'd better eat up his portion of roast pork. It is about affection and making the other person feel special more particularly when life is getting them down.
Harris, to this crowd, was not only a politician but a figure of almost mythic proportions — a paragon of success professionally and personally.
She showed how far you could go as a diversity hire. Sadly 'affirmative action' can't instill in you any worthwhile values you can then go on to affirm. 'Don't give up on Black Boys' isn't exactly inspirational.
And, indeed, the specificity of Harris’ life advice seemed to exceed the precision of her political advice. “You described 107 Days as a political nonfiction thriller,”
She was lying. There may be fiction in it, but there is no suspense. Perhaps what Kamala is hinting is that Biden is a werewolf like the one in Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'.
Haines quipped, “but I think it could also be a self-help for women in the workplace book.”
It is a self-sabotage book. If other people think you only care about 'sisters' of your own ethnicity (provided they aren't your rivals) then you can't lead shit. All you can do is 'office politics' involving whining about being black & having to sit down to pee.
What about the question which- if Zohran wins in New York- is bound to become the biggest 'wedge issue' in the Democratic Party?
Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza, which the Biden-Harris administration had aided with billions in arms sales and transfers to many Democrats’ dismay, did not receive a mention during the event (protesters interrupted an earlier talk that night).
Kamala should have prepared a statement of some appropriately up-beat but anodyne sort.
But the party’s deep divisions could no longer be ignored after audience members emerged from the event to a crowd of pro-Palestinian demonstrators. “Harris, Harris, you can’t hide,” chanted the protesters, bearing Palestinian flags and signs noting the quantity of arms sales and transfers Biden had approved. “Your legacy is genocide.”
If a seasoned politician can't score points off a bunch of nutters chanting nursery rhymes, what good is she?
“She is very much trying to apply this false, revisionist history that, while she was vice president and while she was campaigning for president, she was against the genocide in Gaza,”
No American politician was for it. The question was whether pressure could have been applied on Qatar to get all the hostages released. Only after that is done can we speak of genocide or ethnic cleansing.
explained one protester, who identified himself only as R.
Because he was too brave to give his own name.
“We know that this is not true. We do not forget.”
What we know is that the guy is a coward.
Both groups — Harris’ supporters and pro-Palestinian demonstrators — gathered near the venue’s exit, hoping to catch a glimpse of the former, and potentially future, presidential candidate even as it began to rain.
Meanwhile Trump is off the hook for anything that happens in the MENA. Why? He may not be senile but he is meshugganah. But, as Willie Brown says, he is an entertainer and playing the fool is an advantage in that line of work. Moreover, the fact is, the silent majority of Americans don't really give a shit about furriners. They like a leader who displays impartial bigotry and ignorance in all matters of no direct concern to themselves.
Her security detail cleared a narrow corridor between them.
Hopefully, Trump has reformed the Secret Service. It had turned to shit under Biden.
Cheers erupted from one side, chants from the other, as Harris emerged and entered her motorcade.
Maybe, her political career could revive if Zohran becomes Mayor of New York and goes after Jews in an aggressive manner. After all, Kamala's hubby is Jewish. She could rise as the anti-Islamist candidate.
Once the black SUVs disappeared down the street, the two groups turned their attention on each other. First came the shouting, and before long, shoving.
“Joy is a strategy. It is a political strategy,”
Which leads to losing Congress and the White House.
Haines had told Harris earlier that night. Evidently, the good feelings couldn’t last.
What's so good about feeling your POTUS candidate was a born loser who had only risen through undeserved affirmative action?
Tom Del Beccaro- a Californian Republican who ran against Harris for the Senate- has written an op-ed for Fox News in which he identifies Kamala's '5 big career mistakes'. He is wrong. Kamala acted strategically. She could have become POTUS if Trump's campaign imploded or the fellow was carted off to jail. The fact is the 'it doesn't matter if you are shit provided you are the diversity hire par excellence' strategy can pay off. It's just a matter of luck. The truth is, scum floats to the top. Be the pre-eminent turd in the punchbowl and you too could be POTUS.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris has released her tell-all book about the 2024 campaign. While it may make for good gossip, it’s a decided failure when it comes to her political future.
Maybe. Maybe not. Kamala has successfully lowered expectations regarding herself. Now, if the 'circular firing squad' of the Democratic party can destroy all potential leaders, the turd may be given a second crack at the top job.
Indeed, it is just one more major mistake that will keep her out of the 2028 campaign.
Keep in mind that Harris has had a charmed life.
No. When she was a teenager, she was forced to move to Canada. Her first College was Canadian. Stuff like that can totes mess you up.
From her upper-middle class upbringing in California,
Kamala benefitted from being the daughter of a top Black Professor at Stanford.
to her silver-spooned resume as San Francisco district attorney,
thanks to Willie Brown, whom she was dating. Brown is older than her father.
California attorney general, U.S. senator and vice president, she has acquired quite a resume.
Obama liked her. She was briefly seen as the female Obama. Then people noticed she was as stupid as shit. Still, donors liked her. People thought an avalanche of money would push her into the White House.
What she hasn’t built is credibility as a leader
because she had no mission-critical core competency. Still, she could be a cosmetic hire presiding over a chaotic administration.
— and her latest book only makes that matter worse.
If it makes money, it makes matters better for her.
As the great Reagan biographer Craig Shirley recently reminded us, successful politics is a game of addition.
Reagan was out in the cold during the Seventies. The zeitgeist- the spirit of the times- does matter.
With her latest book, "107 Days," which is a tell-all about her 2024 presidential campaign, Harris reminds everyone that she never understood that basic principle.
What '107 days' shows is that she is ruthless. She picked a nonentity as her Veep candidate because she wanted to be master in her own house. Sadly, she didn't have a good stump speech. Thus she wasted time on 'debate prep' and hired a voice coach who made her sound like a whiney teen.
Here are five major career mistakes along those lines and why they spell doom for any 2028 presidential hopes.
She was opportunistic. Nothing wrong with that. The plain fact is, if Lady Luck had been one of her sorority sisters, she would be POTUS.
5. Harris’ "Political" Breakup With Willy Brown.
She pumped and dumped him. This was sensible. Brown was a machine politician of the old school. Incidentally, she had been on a Trump plane with him. Thankfully she avoided meeting Trump. But he did donate to her first campaign.
The world knows about Kamala Harris’ romantic relationship with Willy Brown. However, many likely don’t know that Brown used to provide Harris with sage advice for her career.
Why else would she have fucked him? But he was a married man (albeit separated) and being his baby-momma would not have helped her.
Willy Brown was, and remains, a smart politician. As a leader in California politics, he got things done and never let ideology or partisanship stop him. He was a practical politician.
At the City and State level- sure. But Kamala wasn't smart. She had to rise away from practical problems which she simply didn't have the band-width to solve. With 107 days, Kamala has successfully lowered expectations about her. We get that she is actually 'ghetto' and only comfortable with Black Collidge educated Women. Still, if all the other candidates destroy each other, this turd will rise to the top. As she gets older, maybe she will reinvent herself as 'Big Momma' or 'Madea'.
Brown essentially made her the San Francisco district attorney and while she listened to him, Harris was not too far left.
Like Biden, she could be damaged by the notion that she was pro 'three-strikes' and had bought into the 'crack' moral-panic. More worrying was her plan to prosecute parents for not permitting gross absenteeism on the part of their children. Fortunately for her, she was not attacked for this piece of stupidity.
Indeed, while she was campaigning in 2019, Harris had to distance herself from her middle of the road record as a DA.
Which was the smart thing to do. Her problem, then as now, is she doesn't have a simple, relatable, 'stump speech'. But, previously, that worked for her. The point about being 'an empty pant-suit' is that you can rise as a diversity hire.
The farther Harris has traveled from Brown, including an unceremonious political breakup, the farther left Harris became and the less practical — losing independents along the way.
Tom is a Republican. That's why he is pretending Kamala's real problem was that she succumbed to the lure of Marxist-Leninism.
4. Harris Never Properly Engaged in Retail Politics.
Which is fine if you are a crap salesman. The question is- 'how high can you rise as a diversity hire at Wholesaler Plc?' The answer was, as high as you like- if Lady Luck is your sorority sister.
Harris has always taken her good political fortune for granted.
That's a good thing. She didn't 'over-promise' or create the false expectation that she actually had a soul.
The field was cleared for her to run for California attorney general — so, she hardly campaigned.
Again a good thing. She is a bad campaigner.
She had an easy go of it in becoming US senator from California (a one-media state with lopsided voter registration) — even though she lost a post-Senate debate poll to me, 38 percent to 32 percent, in April 2016 in that race.
In other words, Kamala's faith in Affirmative Action was justified. Would Biden go the extra mile and undergo gender re-assignment surgery? Sadly not.
What she should have done in those years was work within the state relentlessly to build alliances with voters, politicians and leaders — the game of addition.
This is like saying Kamala should have grown a brain and gained political savvy. But, if she did that, she wouldn't be seen as a diversity hire. Her triumph is to establish herself as the DEI candidate par excellence.
By not developing those necessary alliances, when it came time to run for president in early 2020, she was placing fourth in California primary polling with candidates like Elizabeth Warren ahead of her.
Deservedly so. But 'Pocahontas' turned out to be purely White. Kamala was genuinely of Indian ancestry- albeit the dot rather than the feather kind.
By being weak in California, instead of the runaway leader in California and locking up its nearly 500 delegates, Harris was not taken seriously in Iowa and South Carolina in January 2020.
Still, such was the hold of DEI ideology, she was considered a viable candidate. She spooked Biden so much he made her Veep. Better have her inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in. He forgot that women have to sit down to pee.
That is why I was the first in the nation to predict on national TV, (Fox and Friends), that Harris would not enter the Iowa Caucuses. She didn’t enter Iowa and dropped out. No addition, no race.
Equals no threat to Biden. That's what got her the Veep ticket.
3. Harris Never Cultivated Democrat Leaders.
Again a good thing. Had she done so, she might have been helpful to Biden in whipping votes on the Hill.
Even though Harris didn’t enter the presidential race,
She did but had to drop out.
she was picked as Biden’s vice president — she was the right identity politics choice at the right time among Democrats.
Also, she really was an 'empty pant-suit'.
Even so, she squandered that amazing fortune and opportunity.
No. She got lucky. The whole party united behind her even though Obama and Biden and everybody else wanted someone better- apart, maybe, from Hilary who wanted Kamala to lose the same way she had done.
Any vice president with presidential ambitions has a very clear path to follow.
Pray the President wins the Primaries but has a stroke or goes ga-ga 107 days before the election.
Go around the country and help other people in your party get elected.
In which case you would be useful and thus not a diversity hire at all. It is only by being utterly useless that you get kicked upward.
Vice presidents should add friends relentlessly so that when they run, they can use those relationships for help.
This did not matter at all. The big question was could Kamala get campaign contributions? The answer was yes. She raised a billion in 80 days and outspent Trump by a factor of three to one.
Harris was not famous for doing that. If you are not famous for that as vice president, you failed at that. Harris failed at that.
She was so useless as Veep she had to be kicked upstairs. You can't sack a woman of colour- right?
2. Harris Never Took Responsibility for Her Campaign.
She would have, if she had won.
The scuttlebutt about her book, "107 Days," is that Harris didn’t take ownership for not winning in 2024.
Trump went one better. He claimed the 2020 election was 'stolen'.
Instead of taking responsibility for why she fell short, Harris decided to blame others.
Diversity hires blame non-Diversity hires for all the world's woes. That's par for the course.
Nor has Harris ever taken responsibility for how money was spent wildly on her campaign, including the purchasing of celebrity endorsements. Donors like accountability and responsibility.
Big donors want quid pro quos. That's why they want to back winners- accountability be damned. Trump has the whip hand with those who bet big on Sleepy Joe and Comatose Kamala. That is why, as Kamala now says, those 'guardrails of democracy' have come off.
A billion spent, but no addition. Indeed, blaming others and attacking them is politics by subtraction.
Kamala is a stupid, narcissistic, loser. If the Democratic 'circular firing squad' destroys all worthwhile contenders, the turd will once again rise to the top.
1. Harris Has Never Established Her Vision For The Future.
She doesn't have a good stump speech. The one thing we know about the future, is that America will have less of a hand in shaping it.
Finally, amidst it all, Harris has spent her time not establishing her vision for the future.
If the country is going to turn to shit anyway, why not under a diversity hire? The problem is that Trump is even more neurologically diverse than Kamala. But Vance looks like a smart dude. If the Dems want to lose to him, they must nominate Kamala, not Newsom.
Her first post-election book represented a huge opportunity for someone who wants to be considered a leader.
She doesn't. She wants it to be understood that, as a diversity hire, all she cared about was African American women who had done well in the professions thanks to affirmative action. She didn't give a shit about Gays and so forth.
Her whole career she has been considered light on policy and she could have used this entire book to address that weakness.
It is a strength. Harris has done well out of being an empty pant suit. Luck may favor her once again if her Party remains as divided as it currently is.
Instead of using that opportunity to outline her vision of the future, Harris spent her time writing about the past.
That's how memoirs work. The question is whether her book sells well and earns her lots of money.
Everyone knows, however, that elections are about the future.
Tom is clearly trying to compete with Kamala in the lowest IQ stakes.
Leadership is about addressing the future, not lamenting the past.
Unless you were hired only as a sort of reparation for your ancestors having had to pluck cotton in Southern plantations whose trees bore 'strange fruit'. Kamala's cleverness is to play the African American card despite being no such thing.
Willy Brown always knew that. Harris never learned that.
Tom, if you love Willy so much, why don't you marry him?
In the final analysis, Harris has never been up to the job of a leader.
Like Biden.
She was handed much of her success and didn’t earn it.
Which is why she could be the diversity hire par excellence. Trump succeeded because voters don't give a toss about the sorts of issues candidates do 'debate prep' for. He just has the one stump speech peppered with bizarre streams of consciousness and, even at the UN, it simply can't be countered. Why? Everybody knows nobody really cares about the shite serious people are supposed to care about. Kamala, in her own small way, is emulating Trump. Everything is about her. Give her time and she will mention the time the escalator at JFK broke down- a clear sign that the White Cis-gender Patriarchy was actively conspiring against her.
She doesn’t have the instincts or drive to be president
She has the drive. As for instincts- Trump has them in spades. They are horrible. The point about sleepy Joe & comatose Kamala was that they were hopeless but less horrible. Sadly, that wasn't enough. Migration really matters.
— no matter how many days she was given in the spotlight.
Wille Brown says Trump succeeds because he is an entertainer. Maybe this is what Kamala- in her dim way- is trying to be. My recommendation, as Kamala's self-appointed life coach, is that she go full on Tyler Perry and reinvent herself as, not Madea, but Aunt Jemima who makes delicious pancakes while handing out homely advise like- 'don't give up on our young men. They can't help if if they be bleck and thus prone to gang-banging.'
