Amartya Sen as Jesus Christ

The Reverend Canon Richard Peers says in his Eucharist Sermon-

On holiday last month one of the books I read was Amartya Sen’s memoir Home in the World.

Sen has been called the Mother Theresa of Economics. Why not compare him to Christ? As the Good Book should say-  Greater love showeth no man than this, that he lay down with the wife of his best friend and then run away with her to Engyland where he can pose as the Messiah of the poor and the oppressed.

An economist and mathematician,

A shite economist who misapplied mathematics because he was stupid

but really a polymath

who claims to know Sanskrit though he translates 'Niti' which means 'Policy' as 'Justice'.  

he reflects on his childhood in what is now Bangladesh and the interaction there of religious communities Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and Buddhist.

Buddhists, Hindus and Christians had to run the fuck away from there . That was the interaction.  

Sen takes the title of his book from Rabindranath Tagore’s Home and the World.

Which ends with Muslims slaughtering Hindus and raping their women.  

The fundamental question for Sen, for Tagore and, surely for all of us is how we can be at home in this world.

The answer for Sen's people was run the fuck away from Muslim majority regions.  Also run off with your best friend's wife if she can advance your career more than the desi lady you first married. Shit on India any chance you get. Do your best to ensure it never takes off economically. Remember, all Hindus are evil fanatics. Muslims are angels though it is better to run away if they show any sign of becoming dominant in an area. 

We can try and force ourselves to be at home by creating what is comfortable for us or we can be at home by valuing the diversity and difference of the world.

This is foolish. Either you are at home or you aren't. You make yourself comfortable because its nice to be comfortable not because we have to force ourselves to be at home rather than in our best friend's bed ploughing his wife. As for the diversity and difference of the world, remember that diverse people would enjoy slitting your throat. Value that by all means by killing them in the Christian manner of an Obama dealing with an Osama.
